Natural Cleaning Products

The following is a list of non toxic cleaning products.
Baking soda-This is an all purpose cleaner and is very effective on glass coffee pots and glassware. It also removes red wine stains from carpets. A paste made with water can shine stainless steel and silver. The paste is also good at removing tea stains from cups and saucers.

Grapefruit seed extract-Add this to water in a spray bottle for an odourless way to remove mold and mildew.

Lemon juice-Can be used as a bleaching agent on clothes and can also remove grease from stoves and worktops. Add two tablespoons of lemon juice to ten drops of real lemon oil and a few drops of jojoba oil to clean and polish wood furniture.

Coarse salt-Good for cleaning copper pans and scours cookware. Sprinkle salt on fresh spillages in the oven and wipe off. Sprinkle some salt on rust stains then squeeze a lime or lemon over them. Sit for several hours then wipe off.

Tea tree oil-This can be added to vinegar/water solutions and has anti-bacterial properties. Will kill mold and mildew and can be used on kitchen and bathroom surfaces instead of chemical products. Add 50 drops to a bucket of water to clean worktops and tile floors.

Potatoes-Halved potatoes can remove rust from baking pans. Follow up with a salt scrub or dip the potato in salt before scrubbing.

Olive oil-Can be used to lubricate and polish wood furniture. Mix three parts of olive oil to one part vinegar.

White vinegar-Will clean linoleum floors and windows when mixed with water and a little liquid soap. Cuts grease and removes stains, removes scum and cleans toilets.
